InSAnity All the madmen
In this composition I am trying to pose the question of what sanity means to the observer. Sane or insane, Genius or madman, where do we draw the line? The answer my friend is what is deemed to be within acceptable limits by the masses. What classifies one man sane and another man to be as insane? What are the reasons for the extremities in human behaviour that go beyond the limits of behavioural acceptance? What makes our logical thought deviate from the norm? Addiction, depression, suppression, confusion, delusion, perversion or what? Is it a just a simple case of a chemical imbalance in the brain? The inspiration for the composition is based on a song by David Bowie which is a track featured on The Man Who Sold the World album released 1971, called All the Madmen. Track can be heard here [link] Lyrics can be found here [link] A Brief Explanation of the Artwork. The figure represents the constraints and limitations of our sanity, suppressed in the confines of acceptability. While the tiny butterfly lost in the darkness represents the total freedom of thought of our limitless imagination. For this project all of the band names and CD titles that will be used in this project will be totally fictitious. With this piece of artwork I have used the same design criteria that I have been using for this CD Cover Design project. |

A Great concept for the Art Group. I would join if I had more time on my hands.
Madness is only an extreme state of emotion; it is just where do you draw the line? Where dose sanity end and insanity begin?
